Although, President Trump, most of his political party members in Congress, his core supporters, etc, have framed the issue, of reopening the national economy, in terms of supposed freedoms and rights, the reality is, probably, the true danger may be, the longer - term, danger, of opening, too soon, may be considerably more significant! Many believe, the apparent, attempt to reopen, despite the public health warnings/ considerations, may have dire ramifications! When anyone states, a loss of human life, may be acceptable, if the economy is helped, I wonder, how much they value life! In addition, reopening too soon, may create, a need to close, again, in the future, which would create more significant ramifications, etc. With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, five concerning considerations/ consequences.

1. Resurgence of the virus: We have already observed, in a few locations, around the nation, a resurgence in the number of individuals, infected with this virus! Since, we now realize, the potential, exponential spread of this disease, isn't there a possibility of concerning consequences? How many more must die, and/ or be infected, before we proceed, with greater common sense? Isn't Social DIstancing, washing one's hands, wearing a mask, a better alternative? Doesn't a phased - in, planned reopening, and a careful use of metrics/ guidelines, a smarter approach?

2. Economy paralyzed, by fear: If you reopen, before many people, perceive it, as being safe, it won't serve much positive purpose, and, certainly, not justify the potential risk! This nation might become paralyzed, if we don't address the fears of so much of the public!

3. The new norm: What, we have always, considered, normal, may change, for the foreseeable future! What will become the new, norm? How might, certain industries, such as theater/ entertainment/ movies, restaurants, office layouts, mass transportation, group gatherings, etc, proceed, into the future?

4. Need for longer - term planning, rather than populism: Americans must stop being their own, worst enemies! They must realize, there is a need, to change, certain habits and behaviors, etc, for the greater good! Populist politicians are not serving and representing us, responsibly, but, perhaps, merely their own personal/ political agenda, and/ or. self - interest! President Trump's apparent, failure/ refusal to adequately plan, was, at the very least, partially responsible for the response to this pandemic, and the resulting, alarming number of infected individuals, and death!

5. Science matters!: Science matters, and, simply, denying, blaming and complaining, doesn't protect our society! Enough, excuses, etc! How many more must die?

Wake up, America, and, demand responsive, responsible leadership, which emphasizes relevant, sustainable solutions, and creates the necessary systems, to best, serve and represent us! Voting must be considered, both, a right, as well as a responsibility, and taken seriously!
